MAL BLUM
Singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick emerged in 1994 as part of a group of new female alternative singer/songwriters, much in the vein of Liz Phair. Ferrick began singing in coffeehouses after dropping out of college, eventually winding up in Boston. Her major breakthrough arrived one night when she replaced Morrissey's opening act less than an hour before showtime. Ferrick's performance impressed Morrissey and he invited her to open for him during the rest of the tour. The tour earned her a small cult following as well as a contract with Atlantic Records.

LUXA
Ulrich Schnauss was born in the northern German town of Kiel in 1977. During his formative years, he came to love a wide spectrum of music, ranging from My Bloody Valentine to Tangerine Dream, from Chapterhouse to early bleep and breakbeat tracks. There was not much opportunity to see his musical heroes in Kiel, so he moved to Berlin in 1996.By that time, Ulrich was already a prolific musician in such genres as ambient and drum and bass, with a variety of pseudonyms (most notably View to the Future and Ethereal 77). These earlier works soon caught the eye of Berlin electronica label CCO (City Centre Offices), who took him up.

Robbers on High Street began performing publicly during the summer of 2002, but the band's roots stretch back much farther. Ben Trokan and Steve "Sparky" Mercado have been friends since their preteen years growing up in the upstate New York town of Poughkeepsie. Both Mercado and Trokan shared a recent familial relocation from the Bronx and Manhattan, respectively, and a love of Led Zeppelin. Ten years later Trokan returned to New York City for college and through mutual friends met and began playing with drummer Tomer Danan. In Poughkeepsie, Mercado reconnected with Jeremy Phillips, an old school friend. Robbers on High Street -- the name came from a lyric of one of the band's early, discarded compositions -- was officially born when the four began playing together.

Marina Diamandis was born in Abergavenny, Wales to a Greek father and Welsh mother. Her musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing. After dropping out of university, Diamandis moved to London at the age of eighteen where she attended dance school for only two months. She auditioned for West End musicals and was ultimately cast in The Lion King. Her eponymous name "Marina and the Diamonds" consists of Diamandis' first name and the translation of her surname which means "Diamonds" in Greek. "The Diamonds" refers to Diamandis' fans but is commonly mistaken for Marina's backing band (similar to Florence + the Machine). This is also suggested on her MySpace page where she says "I'm Marina. You are the diamonds."

(Please note this is for the 2pm - 5pm seating) featuring
SUSQUEHANNA INDUSTRIAL TOOL & DIE CO.
The BROOKLYN BEEFSTEAK is back, bigger and badder! Endless pitchers of McSorley's Light and Dark Ale on every table, mountains of choice steak cuts, and absolutely no utensils. All enjoyed to the sweet tunes of Brooklyn's favorite hillbilly boogie band, Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Company. This is a celebration of America's favorite libation and our carnivorous inclinations. Boisterous crowds committed to communal singing are not only welcome, but encouraged at this winter affair.
At the height of 1880s New York celebration, Tammany Hall politicians invented the all-you-can-eat-and-drink beef and beer feast to buy votes. The flash-in-the-pan extravaganzas were fashionable among New York's elite, but lost favor in the early 20th century, surviving only in backwaters of New Jersey.
After 100 years in exile, come one, come all, to partake in the raucous atmosphere of the New York docks and saloons of years past.

TIMBRE TIMBER
The Low Anthem began in Providence in 2006 as a collaboration between Ben Knox Miller, a folk musician and painter from New York's Hudson Valley and Jeff Prystowsky, a jazz bassist and baseball scholar from New Jersey. The duo met at Brown University as on-air personalities for the college's commercial alternative formatted station WBRU.Having played together since 2002 in various ensembles ranging from rock, to electronica, to classical, their mutual interest in Americana, baseball, and morally agnostic narrative necessitated the formation of The Low Anthem. Dan Lefkowitz, a bluesman from Strasburg, VA joined the band in September 2006 and amicably left the band in March 2007, with his song "This God Damn House" remaining in the band's live repertoire. In November 2007 classical composer and NASA technician Jocie Adams joined the project.
In 2009, the band performed at South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury Festival and the Newport Folk Festival.
The band has appeared on the NPR radio programs All Things Considered and World Cafe. Their album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin was named Album of the Month by Uncut. They are nominated for the 2009 Uncut Music Award.

A VERY SPECIAL YACHT ROCK EVENING
with special headliners on their 40th Anniversary Tour
plus most of the cast of Channel 101's hit internet show, Yacht Rock. We'll set sail at 7:30pm with a special set by Ambrosia at 9pm followed by the screening of all episodes of Yacht Rock. This proves to be the most special Yacht Rock party to date!Ambrosia formed in 1970, in the South Bay/San Pedro area of Southern California. The musicians were inspired by the progressive rock era, and developed a large regional following for their inventive musicianship and skillful arranging. Ambrosia came to national prominence in 1975 with the release of their self-titled debut album on 20th Century Fox Records. Ambrosia was produced and engineered by the legendary Alan Parsons, and featured the top ten hit "Holdin' on to Yesterday", as well as the FM classic "Nice Nice, Very Nice". After lengthy touring, the band returned in 1976 with "Somewhere I've Never Traveled," also produced and engineered by Parsons. In 1978, Warner Bros. released Life beyond L.A., which simultaneously scored their first gold CHR hit' "How Much I Feel", as well as the #1 rock track "Life Beyond L.A."
Extensive touring with Fleetwood Mac and the Doobie Brothers, in addition to major headlining shows, cemented Ambrosia's reputation as a stellar live act. In 1980, Warner Bros. released "One Eighty," a smash LP that produced two of the year's biggest hits, "You're the Only Woman" and "Biggest Part of Me." Though a headlining world tour and three Grammy nominations followed, one of the biggest honors bestowed upon them was Quincy Jones' declaration that "Biggest Part of Me" was one of his all time favorite songs.

FRANKIE & THE OUTS
Fronted by indie-pop bombshell Tracy Tracy, The Primitives emerged from the UK independent scene of the mid-80's that spawned The Jesus and Mary Chain & My Bloody Valentine. Their sound distilled the shimmering guitar jangle of the Byrds with the buzzsaw style of The Ramones and 60's girl group melodies, into two and a half minute pop gems.Morrissey named them his favourite band & a widely acclaimed first album, made them the UK's indie-darlings. The huge success of Crash, saw them cross-over to a mass audience.
A reunion for two gigs at the end of 2009, brought rapturous reviews & this chance to see them in 2010.
