Come one, come all to THE BELL HOUSE on SUNDAY, APRIL 28th for 2013's BROOKLYN BEEFSTEAK.
Heaping mountains of juicy LA FREIDA STEAK CUTS, endless pitchers of MCSORLEY'S LIGHT & DARK, and absolutely NO UTENSILS, all washed down with the foot-stomping rhythms of everyone's favorite hillbilly boogie threesome, Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Company (SIT&DIE).
This is an invitation to a celebration of America's favorite libation and our carnivorous inclinations. Boisterous crowds committed to communal bread-stacking are not only welcome, but encouraged to reach dizzying heights at this spring fling.
Tammany Hall politicians invented the all-you-can-eat beef feast, or beefsteak, to win over the hearts and minds of New York voters. Up until the mid-1930s these revelrous feasts were popular among New York's working class, but the tradition was lost in time, surviving only in the backwaters of New Jersey.
It's high time to revive this glorious day of meat. The beefsteak tradition is alive and well, back in New York where it belongs. Get a taste of the raucous atmosphere of the New York docks and saloons of years past.
*Everyone takes home their very own BROOKLYN BEEFSTEAK 2013 souvenir apron, so you'll always have a cow map handy at those summertime cookouts.
