Whiplash is a weekly standup show at the UCB Theatre in New York. Every Monday night at 11pm, people have a chance to see some of the best stand ups in the world today performing ten to twenty-minute sets.

Aparna Nancherla
Aparna started out doing comedy in her hometown of Washington D.C. and now resides in New York City. 2016’s Elle’s Women in Comedy Issue, featured her as one of the most exciting new voices to hit the comedy scene. She is a series regular in the debut season of Comedy Central’s Corporate and has reprised her role in season 2 of HBO’s CRASHING. Aparna is also featured in the second season of Netflix’s The Standups. Other television credits include Netflix’s Master of None and LOVE, HBO’s High Maintenance Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, appearing as a US correspondent for Dave’s (UK) Unspun with Matt Forde, and Hulu’s I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman. In 2018 she makes her feature debut in the Paul Feig movie A Simple Favor. Her TV stand up appearances include Seeso’s stand up series Night Train with Wyatt Cenac, season 2 of Comedy Central’s Meltdown as well as Adam Devine’s House Party. In 2013, she made her late night stand up debut on TBS’s Conan and was one of the breakout New Faces at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Her TV writing credits include Late Night with Seth Meyers as well as being a regular correspondent/writer on FX’s Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. She is also an alumna of the NBC Stand Up for Diversity program and currently headlines throughout the world and has been seen at a number of festivals including Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Moontower, SF Sketchfest, DC’s Bentzen Ball, Outside Lands, Bonnaroo and Dublin’s Vodaphone Comedy Festival. Aparna’s been featured on and in NPR, Reader’s Digest, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post Magazine, XM Radio, and Slate V. She can regularly be seen performing at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade’s in LA and NYC. Her debut album Just Putting It Out There was released in July 2016 by Tig Notaro’s label Bentzen Ball Records and hit the #4 on Billboard Comedy Charts.

Noah Gardenswartz is the most laid back jewish stoner you'll ever want to meet. After being invited to perform at Just For Laughs New Faces in 2014, Noah has been taking New York by storm, with his live show Comedy Freaknik growing in popularity every show. Also tasked with helming the New York edition of High Five, the show which tasks comics with getting too high to perform then asking them to perform which runs regularly in NY, LA and at comedy festivals across the country.

Noah is returning to Cleveland, participating in Accidental Comedy Fest for the 1st time September 11-13

Dina Hashem first tried stand-up by auditioning for the 2010 New Jersey Comedy Festival at Rutgers University. After winning 1st place, she continued to pursue comedy and has been performing regularly in New York City. Dina's style involves a subdued delivery with dark observations about her life and Islamic upbringing. She was a competitor on Comedy Central's Roast Battle, and she has performed at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, and popular NYC shows including UCB's Whiplash and Wyatt Cenac's Night Train for Seeso. Her writing has been featured on Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and TV Land websites.

Josh Rabinowitz
Josh Rabinowitz
Josh Rabinowitz is a stand-up comedian and writer for the upcoming season of “Broad City” and “The Carmichael Show.” He played “Josh” in Mike Birbiglia’s film “Don’t Think Twice,” and has performed stand-up on Comedy Central’s “Adam Devine’s House Party” and Just For Laughs Montreal’s “All Access” on the Comedy Network. He has been named one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” and a “New Face” at Montreal JFL. He was a writer on Lucas Brothers’ “Super Late Morning Show” for Comedy Central Studios and played “Kent” on MTV’s “I Just Want My Pants Back.” He’s served as a one of the head writers, executive producers, cast members, and creators of “Friends of the People” on TruTV. His short film, “Hasta La Vista,” which he wrote and acted in, has been an official selection at IFF Boston, Just For Laughs Montreal, the Austin Film Festival, the Hollywood Film Festival, the Lower East Side Film Festival, the South Dakota Film Festival, Vimeo Staff Pick, and Beloit International Film Festival. He’s also co-producer of the indie feature “5 Doctors” starring Matt Porter, Max Azulay, Bobby Moynihan, Eddie Pepitone, and Jeremy Shamos, which recently debuted at the Austin Film Festival.

Josh Johnson
Josh Johnson, featured on Season 1 of Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” on Comedy Central, was named one of Comedy Central’s “Comics to Watch” in 2015 and one of the Just For Laughs festival’s “New Faces” in 2016. He is a former writer/performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also made his late-night stand-up debut earlier this year. As a stand-up, Josh has performed at clubs, colleges and festivals across the country, such as Just For Laughs, Moontower, SF Sketchfest, Bridgetown, RIOT LA and the New York Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on @midnight with Chris Hardwick and has a Comedy Central Presents- Stand Up half hour coming out this fall. Josh lives in Brooklyn with his roommate’s dog.

Casey James Salengo is an NYC based comedian from the mountains of Vermont. He's performed in the Riptide Comedy Festival and the Brooklyn Comedy Festival. He's usually very polite.
Jordan Temple
Jordan Temple
Jordan Temple is a comedian currently living in New York. He has performed at various clubs, colleges and festivals throughout the country. Before pursuing stand up he performed as an improv student at Upright Citizens Brigade Training Center where he completed level 401, and was a three-time Diversity Scholarship recipient. Jordan’s play that he wrote and performed in, Hidden Fences, was recently covered in The New York Times and Time Out New York, which described the show as “taking on all the hypocrisy of Black History Month in 2017” with “vicious satire.” Jordan lives in Astoria, Queens with his girlfriend, two roommates and deaf cat. He recently was a staff writer on Frankie Shaw’s Showtime series, SMILF which will premiere in November 2017. Jordan is currently writing for THE RUNDOWN WITH ROBIN THEDE on BET.

Mike Recine
Mike Recine is a funny, nice person who is sometimes awkward and anxious. He started comedy in Jersey at the age of 18 in 2006 and mostly performed for his very large Italian family. Since moving to New York in 2007 Mike has headlined top venues around the city and country. In 2010 he was nominated for Time Out New York's '~Joke of the Year' and an ECNY award for '~Best Emerging Comic' . Most recently, he was selected to perform in the '~New Faces Showcase' at the 2011 Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Mike works really hard on his jokes and on being likeable. He owns 5 pellet guns and is happy to give you one.
