Las Culturistas LIVE: I don't think so, honey!
LAS CULTURISTAS is a weekly podcast (and live show, “I DON’T THINK SO, HONEY”) hosted by comedians Matt Rogers (Netflix, IFC, Comedy Central’s Up Next and The Other Two, JFL New Faces) and Bowen Yang (SNL, Comedy Central Up Next), featuring guests like Phoebe Robinson, Margaret Cho, Rachel Bloom, and John Early. It has been called “addictively bitchy” by Time Out New York and “an unstoppable force of charisma” by The A.V. Club. In addition to being named one of Esquire’s “Top 10 Podcasts of 2017” and Time Out New York’s #1 Comedy Podcast, Las Culturistas was recently selected as one of Time Magazine’s “50 Best Podcasts to Listen to Right Now”. Their live format, “I DON’T THINK SO, HONEY” – featuring 30 comedians doing one-minute rants on any pop culture pest of their choosing – has been featured at the New York Comedy Festival, the Brooklyn Podcast Festival, New York Magazine’s Vulture Festival, Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Just For Laughs in Montreal, and Just For Laughs 42 in Toronto. Outside of their podcast and live shows, Matt and Bowen regularly perform around NYC and LA, and contribute their colorful culture commentary to New York Magazine’s Vulture – including, most recently, covering the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. In the words of Guy Branum (Pop Rocket): “Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers are fucking culture warriors and we don’t deserve them.”
Matt Rogers
Matt Rogers
Matt Rogers is an NYC based actor, writer, comedian and director. He is currently a writer for Comedy Central’s THE OTHER TWO. Originally from Long Island, NY, Matt was raised by a father who loved Jimmy Buffett and a mother who loved Barbra Streisand. This caused him to become the person he is today: a crazy gay pirate who thinks it's 1985. Matt is the artistic director of musical sketch comedy group Pop Roulette (Comedy Central Comics to Watch 2015), an actor on UCB Maude Night with the team Choir, a member of the popular sketch group Chess Club Comedy, and a proud director and performer with Story Pirates, among others. Matt was honored individually as a Comic to Watch (Sketch/Characters) in the 2016 New York Comedy Festival and most recently he was one of the New Faces at Just For Laughs Montreal 2017. Matt is currently the co-host of the popular podcast “Las Culturistas” and also hosts the live show “Gayme Show” alongside Dave Mizzoni. He was recently in the digital series BAGDAD, FLORIDA, written and directed by Matt Fifer, can be seen in the Netflix feature THE AFTER PARTY, dir. Ian Edelman and starring Teyana Taylor, Blair Underwood, French Montana, and Wiz Khalifa, and can be heard as the voice of Bill Shine in Showtime’s OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT. Up next, look out for Matt in season 3 of TBS’ SEARCH PARTY.
Bowen Yang
Bowen Yang
Bowen Yang is a comedian, producer and formerly mediocre chemistry major based in Brooklyn, NY. He is currently a writer for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and he recently made his on-camera debut on SNL. Bowen creates and produces various live shows in New York, including "LIVE ON BROADGAY" at Littlefield, "LAKE HOMO HIGH" at The Annoyance, and the "LAS CULTURISTAS" podcast with Matt Rogers, which has been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Splitsider and Time Out New York. TV credits include "BROAD CITY," "THE OUTS," and "HIGH MAINTENANCE," and “JON GLASER LOVES GEAR.” Bowen can be seen currently in the feature ISN’T IT ROMANTIC, directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and can next be seen in Comedy Central’s upcoming series AWKWAFINA. He performs sketch with POP ROULETTE and was named one of Comedy Central's "Comics to Watch."
