The annual Werk It
festival from WNYC Studios is the podcasting industry’s only gathering dedicated to elevating women’s voices on both sides of the microphone. See www.werkitfestival.com

Growing up with an eccentric Jewish mother in Queens, NYC, Nikki heard there was an amazing place where people didn’t have to tell their mothers everything and you could keep…secrets! Shocked, she wondered, “where is this faraway land?” and “are they accepting new members?” But her mother insisted this was bullshit, and fed her some brisket to STFU. A development executive in Hollywood for over 10 years, Nikki has overseen numerous films including Academy Award-nominated FROST/NIXON, Fox Animation’s EPIC and three seasons of sketch show OMG for Go90. She loves all things comedy, and teaches storytelling, creative writing and various courses on “the business.” She is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Radio/Television/Film program, and lives in Los Angeles with her fiancé, their pit bull and a non-binary tuxedo cat.
Hailing from Washington, DC is Comedic Personality Lonnie Bee! Known for his famous greeting “Good Morning B!sh, It’s a beautiful day in Zamunda” & unorthodox intervention skills that touch women with a message that “you can be better than you were yesterday.” He uses his social media platform and Standup comedy shows to encourage “Good Good Girlfriends” who may have lost their way or are in a difficult situation. With his clear-cut views & honesty he offers a refreshing view that leaves audiences in tears, empowered, and creates new connections in the GGGF Movement. He’s known for being Real, Raw, Uncut in his advice (adult language) but it resonates with the masses in a society where honesty is few & far between.
The Good Good Girlfriend movement was solidified by a Phenomenal SOLD OUT 22 show east coast Tour followed by distribution deal with Shoe City clothing store, Lonnie Bee is a breath of fresh air and has been dubbed Americas “Judy on Duty!”
A powerhouse actress and consummate pollyanna who uses her superpowers for good (even though she’s know for playing some amazing bitches!), Alysia just finished filming season 4 of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK. She won her second SAG award (the first one was for the film SIDEWAYS) for Best Ensemble Cast for her role as “Fig,” the tough as nails assistant warden, and can be seen in seasons 1, 2 and 3 now on Netflix. She just started filming the new FX show BETTER THINGS, brought to you by the inimitable Louie CK and Pamela Adlon. Additionally you can catch her as D.A. Wendy Parks in Shonda Rhimes’ breakout hit HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER on ABC, and Lilian Izikoff on ROSEWOOD on FOX. Oh, and over in “cameo land” she is playing another diva (okay, bitch) on the new Michael Showalter/Sarah-Violet Bliss/Charles Rogers series SEARCH PARTY for TBS.
Jo Firestone is a Brooklyn-based comedian whose work can be seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Joe Pera Talks With You, The Chris Gethard Show, and heard on Earwolf and WFMU. Her half hour special aired on Comedy Central in 2016, and her album, "The Hits" is available now on Comedy Central Records. If you like puns, check out her game, Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun Lovers.
Ester Dean is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She has written songs for many artists including Christina Aguilera, Florence + The Machine, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Drake, Selena Gomez, Mary J. Blige, Nicki Minaj and Kelly Clarkson, among many other, and was nominated for Grammy Awards for Album of the Year as a producer on Rihanna's album Loud.
In 2012, she voiced two of the characters in the fourth film in the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and also wrote a song for the movie, entitled "We Are (Family)". Dean made her acting debut in the film Pitch Perfect (2012) as Cynthia-Rose Adams, a role she reprised for the sequels, Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3.
If Dolly Parton & Flight of the Conchords got drunk and had a baby, you’d get the comedic song stylings of Reformed Whores. Serving up “southern-fried feminism” across the country, Katy Frame and Marie Cecile Anderson have headlined comedy clubs and opened for the likes of “Weird Al” Yankovic, Les Claypool, and Dweezil Zappa. Their show Grand Ole Cuntry premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and was hailed by the press as "a magnificently bawdy celebration of female sexuality" and "an empowering shake-down of country music clichés." The girls have over a million hits on YouTube and their sophomore album "Don't Beat Around the Bush" debuted in the top 20 iTunes comedy chart! For more information, visit www.reformedwhores.com.
